2009 Naplan writing

DISCOVERY:

The house alarm went off like a tornado was rumbling up the driveway. Again. Groaning, I sat up shook my head as I looked at my watch. 4:00am. I swore as eventually someone turned off the alarm. Probably mum. I -rolled over and tried to go back to sleep but I was awake now so my morning holiday sleep-in was gone. I sighed, got up, got dressed and went to the lounge to watch some TV. Did TVs even work at this hour? I mean it was now 4:15. I clicked the on button and the TV turned on. I went to the Foxtel remote and started scrolling through channels randomly putting on different shows. Then, I made a discovery. 

I know that you can learn a lot from watching TV, but who would've thought you could learn a lot just by looking at a TV? In the reflection of the large screen, I think I saw what had been setting off the alarm. There was a large foam box, large enough to set off any alarm, in the middle of our driveway. But what 

interested me was how it seemed to be even now moving with no breeze. I went outside to check it out.

I could hear noises coming from within the box as i got close. Small animal perhaps. Still too hard to tell so I opened it.
