I think that animals should be in cages, as cages are where they are bred and thus the species kept alive
because after they breed they're let back into the wild or kept on display at zoos but either way, in doing
so these animals are kept alive and away from extinction, a fate that's worse than any cage can offer.
In my opinion, it's better these animals are in cages in zoos where they're well fed, watered and alive or
after more have been bred turned lose into the wild instead of dying and becoming extinct. If not for cages
and enclosures, the Tasmanian Devil would be extinct. Instead, there are few but at least some in cages
and enclosures being looked after and mating so that their breed may come back with a stronger population.
We've already seen the loss of many animals such as the dodo bird, the Tasmanian Tiger & many more. Why
simply see off more animals when cages - which aren't permanent - can be used to help protect these animals?
In using cages we can avoid losses like the Tasy Tiger and dodo bird. We can help save these animals and then
release them back into the wild. In using cages, we can save species and make a difference instead of letting
poor animals die.
In Japan right now, thousands, possibly Tens of thousands of animals are without homes right now because of the
crushing force of the tsunamis that recently occurred there. The RSPCA Australia right now is asking for donations
to help build cages and enclosures in Japan so that maybe animals there can have an impermanent home until something better comes along, but until then cages are saving these animals lives.
To conclude, caging animals is definitely a good thing that leads to their protection and possibility that maybe they
get let back into the wild but until then, they are saved from extinction. It may not be ideal to some, but for
most animals, it's cages or extinction.
